Care sheets are one of the most useful tools available to a reptile keeper, setting out the basics of temperature, humidity, diet and enclosure size for a given species in one place. There's also the simpler issue of gaps. When ordering from several places at once, it's easy to end up missing something that felt implicit, a second hide, a suitable water dish, the right substrate depth for a burrowing species, because no single order was ever checked against a full list of what the setup actually needs.

Care sheets get a keeper most of the way to a healthy, well-set-up animal. The remaining distance, anything that touches on health or illness, belongs with a vet every time.

The structure is fairly simple in practice. A subscription is set up around a delivery cadence, typically weekly or fortnightly, chosen to match how quickly a particular animal or collection gets through its livefood. Each delivery contains a set quantity of feeder insects, sized appropriately to the animal being fed, whether that's smaller insects for a juvenile or hatchling, or larger prey for an adult with a bigger appetite. The livefood itself is despatched to arrive live and in good condition, with appropriate packaging for the time of year and the journey involved.
